Bring Dodge to Your School! 

If you can’t come to the nature center, we can come to you.  Give your students the opportunity to experience nature through activities and experiences provided by Dodge Nature Center staff.  Use Dodge Naturalists to enhance and expand your curriculum.  A variety of our programs can be presented at your school, providing hands-on experiences and access to special nature-related materials.

Program Fees

One-hour program: $135
Consecutive program (same day, same site): $80

There is a mileage fee of $.40/mile for over 25 miles round trip.

Scholarships are available.

Programs Offered

Raptors
Bring the spirit of the wilderness to your classroom.  This program features an interactive dialogue between the naturalist and the audience while meeting an education raptor up close.  The naturalist will bring along props and activities to see first-hand what makes these creatures so unique. Great for various group sizes (10 to 100).

Reptiles and Amphibians
Whether they love, respect or fear them, people are fascinated by the lives of reptiles and amphibians.  Learn about the amazing lives of snakes, turtles, salamanders, and more.  Our naturalist will share information about these misunderstood yet remarkable creatures.  Live animals will be brought in and students will have an opportunity to touch them. Great for various group sizes.

Hens and Roosters
Let us bring the farm to you!  From egg to chick to adult, chickens are fascinating animals.  Students will meet some of Dodge's chickens up close as we compare breeds and learn about the life of a chicken.  Great for various group sizes.

Minnesota Wildlife
Introduce students to some of Minnesota’s wild residents.  Through hands-on experiences and visits with live animals, students will learn some of the wild animals commonly found in Minnesota. Limited to 30 students in grades Pre-K through 2.

Mammals
Investigate Minnesota mammals and their food preferences.  Students will have the opportunity to analyze skulls in order to gain a better understanding of what makes an animal an herbivore, a carnivore or an omnivore. Limited to 30 students in grades Pre-K through 2.
