Dodge Nature Preschool is offering a one-day conference to give educators an opportunity to observe and learn about nature-based education.

Find inspiration and practical ideas to help incorporate nature-based education into your classroom and school environment.

The Learning Conference includes:

1. Season’s Hike—Discover the wonders of the season.

With the guidance of a Dodge Nature Center Naturalist, learn how to spot animal tracks and signs, find out what changes plants and animals are experiencing, and get to know some of the resident animals at Dodge Nature Center.  You’re sure to get inspiration and information you can bring back with you.

2. Nature as Curriculum: Children and Teachers as Partners in Discovery.

Dodge Nature Preschool teachers will share their experiences using nature as a guide and inspiration for their curriculum.  Emphasis will be placed on the importance of closely observing children and helping them reflect on their own experiences in nature in order to gain insights about their knowledge and development.  Practical ideas will be shared for participants to apply the session’s content to their own context.

The cost is $70 per participant. This fee includes a light breakfast, lunch, workshops and a Four Seasons Resource Manual in CD format.  Please come prepared to spend time outdoors.
