The core of this internship is a general overview of small scale farming practices. Interns will learn to do farm feeding chores, barn cleaning, basic animal medical/husbandry care, soil preparation, crop planting, cultivation, and harvest. In addition, there will be opportunities to work on bee keeping, a model aquaponics system, fence and building repair, composting, and maple sugaring—all only when seasonally appropriate. The intern will learn a variety of farm practices in a wide variety of areas.
Must be 18 years of age or older. Interest or experience in working in the field of agriculture. Ability to work outside in a physical labor environment (ability to lift 40 lbs).
