Agriculture Intern

Farm interns gain experience in sustainable agriculture, assisting with the daily care of our diverse farm animal population, preparation of bedding plants and planting, care and harvest of field crops.

Position Description


The core of the internship is a general overview of small scale farming practices. Interns will learn to do the feeding chores, barn cleaning, basic animal medical/husbandry care, soil preparation, crop planting, cultivation, and harvest.  In addition there will be opportunities to work on bee keeping, a model aquaponics system, fence and building repair, composting, and maple sugaring- all only when seasonally appropriate.  The intern will learn a variety of farm practices in a wide variety of areas.

Qualifications


Must be 18 years of age or older.
Interest or experience in working in the field of agriculture.
Ability to work outside in a physical labor environment (ability to lift 40 lbs)
