Beekeeping Program and Bee Rental Space

Learn beekeeping or rent a space for your bees.

Beekeeping Program

Have you always wanted to keep honey bees, but didn’t know where to start? Here’s your chance! Learn beekeeping from Dodge staff during the 2021 season (April – October) at Shepard Farm in Cottage Grove. You’ll have access at the farm to a colony of bees, a hive, a beekeeping suit to use for the season, and all the equipment needed. Together, we’ll work our bees, from starting a new package in the spring to harvesting honey at summer’s end.

$650 for new beekeepers, $450 for returning Dodge beekeepers. See the registration page for all details.
