Fall Break Camps 2022

October 20 – 21, 2022

Registration is open!

Dodge is offering single-day Fall Break Camps on Thursday, October 20 and Friday, October 21, 8:15 a.m. – 3:00 p.m. Camps are located at the Main Property in West St. Paul. One theme is offered for each grade group: K-1, 2-4 and 5-8. Scroll down for camp themes and details below. Camps cost $60. Scholarships are available for those who qualify.

To accommodate all interested campers, you may register your child for one camp.

How to register


1. If you were awarded a scholarship, please contact info@dodgenaturecenter.org to process your reduced payment.
2. If you do not have a scholarship, select one camp below and submit payment on the event page.
3. When payment is successfully submitted, click the link to fill out the Camper Information Form on a separate page and complete your registration.

To be added to the waitlist, email info@dodgenaturecenter.org with your child(ren)’s name and grade along with the date(s) of the camp you would like to join.

Grades K-1: Animal Adventures


Thursday, October 20

Explore the wonderful world of animals! Search the forests, prairies, and wetlands to figure out what animals are doing to prepare for winter. Look for clues to learn which animals will hibernate, migrate or stay active in the cold. You’ll use your senses as you meet furry, scaly and feathery animal ambassadors.

Practice skills every outdoorsperson needs. Use your resourcefulness to create shelters and structures with sticks, rocks, leaves and more. Learn how to build a good cooking fire and practice your campfire cooking making tasty treats. Come ready for adventure as you have fun and learn in the great outdoors.

Grades 5-8: Ancient Technology


Thursday, October 20

Put away your smartphone, it’s time to learn the skills and technology of our ancestors. Try to make a fire using only friction. Learn how to make rope from natural fibers. Practice using a Stone Age spear-thrower called an atlatl. Use stone blades for making sparks and cutting meat to roast over a fire. Don’t miss this journey back to the past!

Your kids have so much fun at Dodge camps—have you been wishing you could try the activities too? Now’s your chance! Before you pick up your camper on Friday, October 21, spend the afternoon learning about Dodge animals and how to build fires. S’mores are on the menu!
