Snowshoe at Shepard Farm

Learn to snowshoe in the fresh powder at Shepard Farm in Cottage Grove! Experience the joy of “floating” on snow with traditional wooden snowshoes. Guided by naturalists through the wintry woods, search for signs of active wildlife—each discovery shows a new story in the snow. Learn winter nature facts you can share with your friends and family. Beginners welcome and snowshoes provided!

This program is designed for ages 10 and up—children must be accompanied by an adult. The duration of this walk is around 1.5 hours at a moderate pace and travels 1 mile through winding old-growth forest. Participants should dress in warm boots and clothing comfortable for cold temperatures and outdoor hiking.

Preregistration is required. Registration typically closes the day before the program at 12 p.m. Program fees are nonrefundable and transfers are not permitted.
