Volunteer Opportunities

Share your nature appreciation

Supporting the connection between community and nature is extremely vital, as future generations are at risk of losing touch with the natural world. Dodge volunteers foster nature connections and experiences by sharing their talents, ideas, and diversity of perspectives. You must have a volunteer application on file with the nature center before volunteering.

Ages vary, but students are primarily in K-6th grade. Teaching experience is helpful but not necessary; enthusiasm is required! Training and feedback are provided by professional naturalist staff.

Trail Walker

Time: Mid-June through early August. Camps run Monday – Thursday, 8:15 – 3:15 p.m.
Location: Main Property in West St. Paul or Shepard Farm in Cottage Grove
Enjoy the rewarding experience of being a camp counselor by assisting with naturalist-led activities and acting as a role model for young campers. Help naturalist staff with preparation, activities, group management, and ensuring a memorable camper experience.

After submitting a volunteer application, staff will reach out for an informal interview. If accepted, new volunteers are required to attend an orientation/training in early June.
