Help Wanted


Summer Camp Counselor

For: Ages 15+
Time: Mid-June through early August. Camps run Monday–Thursday, 8:15 a.m.–3:15 p.m.
Location: Main Property or Shepard Farm
Enjoy the rewarding experience of being a camp counselor by assisting with naturalist-led activities and acting as a role model for young campers. Help staff with camp prep, activities, group management, and creating a memorable camper experience.

After submitting a volunteer application, staff will reach out for an informal interview. If accepted, new volunteers are required to attend an orientation/training in early June.

Teacher/Naturalist

For: Adults 18+
Time: Weekdays during the school year
Location: Main Property
Assist in providing environmental education programs to school groups outdoors in every season. Engage students in farm and agricultural life, search for animal tracks and signs, and discover native Minnesota wildlife and plants.

Students are primarily in K6th grade. Teaching experience is helpful but not necessary—enthusiasm is required! Training and feedback are provided by professional naturalist staff.

Community Event Volunteer

For: Ages 15+
Location: Main Property or Shepard Farm
Spend a Saturday helping out at one of our community events! Free or low-cost community events welcome new and familiar audiences to Dodge for seasonal environmental education and fun.

We host the following events yearly:
– Winter Fun Fest: February
– Pancake Breakfast: March
– Rock the Barn: May
– Halloween Extravaganza: October
