Visitor Alert – Ticks

American dog ticks (wood ticks) are abundant at the Lilly Property. We recommend the following safety measures from the Minnesota DNR:

  • Walk in the center of the trail to avoid ticks in grass and brush
  • Wear light colored clothing to easily spot ticks, and long pants, socks and closed-toe footwear
  • Check and re-check for ticks during your visit. If you do find a tick on you, gently and slowly pull the tick straight outward from its head. Wash and apply antiseptic to the affected area.
